Here are some insiders travel tips for you:

One of the fun things about taking a trip is that you

can go buy some new stuff – probably most women enjoy

picking out some new duds, whereas guys think about

cameras, binocs and similar new toys.

In fact, in defense of my gender, picking out toys for

travel can indeed make the trip even more enjoyable.

Maybe for a travel camera, small size, improved

telephoto capabilities, extended battery life can mean

the difference in getting that great shot of a Greek

mountain goat, for instance.

Or perhaps some lightweight noise-cancelling headphones

can spell a really restful sleep on a long flight. And

if it’s a wildlife expedition, of course some really

good (and lightweight) binoculars will be a must. If

you’re a reader, would a Kindle electronic reader be a

whole lot easier than toting a bunch of books along?

If you’re touring overseas, you will need to have some

city clothes to fit into the local scene. This means

dark slacks and shoes throughout Europe’s centers, with

the sneakers, fanny packs and shorts reserved for the

beaches/resorts. By not being conspicuous, you will

enjoy better overall travel experiences and service.
